Day 144 & 145 - Portofino - by night

Portofino is a picturesque Italian fishing village - beautiful in every way and not surprisingly, also a favorite destination of the rich and famous, who dock their private super yachts in the tiny harbour.

Simply stated, it has perfect scenery, excellent food and many wonderful things to see by land or sea. Below are pictures from an evening walk we took.  If cameras could also capture the aroma of the sea and pines intermingled with the night's dinner being cooked, everyone reading would instantly be hungry, and have the urge to kiss someone they love.

From Eze to Portofino

Just some random pictures taken along the way as we drove towards Portofino

Day 143 - Eze Village

We left Marseille by car and headed towards Italy for two weeks in Tuscany. A nice stop along the way is Eze Village, a charming French medieval village near the Italian border that sits on top of a seaside bluff. You can walk, shop and eat your way through the narrow streets of the town all the way to the very top were a cactus garden grows around the ruins of the old castle that Louis XIV ordered to be destroyed.

Day 137 to 142 - Marseille - Le Corbusier

We are back in Marseille for a week exploring the markets, museum and exhibits - just relaxing. Below are some pictures from the"Le Corbusier" building, a stark, but interesting place to visit

A day or so later Choci was reading one of her books - a two year old's introduction to numbers, shapes and letters, and we noticed that she was staring at a page with a large green circle, a pink triangle and an orange rectangle. She was really analyzing it very thoughtfully. Sensing a learning moment, we got ready to explain the different shapes and colors, but after some time, she pointed at the three shapes and questioningly asked... "Art"??

We are probably taking her to too many modern art exhibits :-)
