In the end we were successful in finding the coastal road and started the drive from Barcelona back to Marseille on the narrow highway that winds it way along the seaside mountains. The scenery was beautiful especially when near the sleepy villages that rest in the many bays where Spain lazily dips its toes into the Mediterranean.
