Day 120 to 123 - Seattle

If you want to find a friend you lost contact with in school who was wearing flannel and flip flops year round, acing all the Computer Science exams and spending weekends programming and playing video games, it would be good to check Seattle.

We flew out of Houston and spent four long summer days in the soft light of the Emerald City.  It is truly a Nerd Wonderland.

What a delight it was to walk down the street with my glasses, pony tail, no make-up, old blue jeans and tee-shirt and see most women looking equally shabby. Add good French bakeries, hot springs close-by, fantastic restaurants, wonderful hikes, a cool night life, artsy stores, the possibility to have a beach or mountain in your backyard and farmer's markets with piles of fresh berries and buckets full of flowers.

It was my first time in Seattle. Kenobi spent 3 years there earlier, and, we both love it...  At least in the summer  :-)   Will have to check it out in the winter when the grey clouds set in and the sun sets around 4:00 in the afternoon.

Below are pics from Pike Street Fish Fry -
If you are in the mood for some good Fish & Chips at 11 pm, this is the place. We had to wait in a line to get in...

and a few more random pics from around Seattle.
