Aoraki /
Mount Cook is the highest peak in New Zealand, reaching 3,754 meters
(12,316 ft). It has three summits and two glaciers (the Tasman to the east
and the Hooker to the west). Along with
and the surrounding mountains, it is incredibly beautiful and impressive,
especially from the Tasman glacier valley. We drove up the valley late
in the afternoon in a heavy fog. The next morning sunrise is the first
picture below.
